WAIT, BUT WHY?

I like to believe that it all started when my family went on a one-month trip to Costa Rica when I was turning 5 years old, accompanying a friend and journalist reporting on an indigenous community. This, in Schwarzenegger's words, sparked "the fire in my belly" to explore the world, to see as much of it as I can, and to meet people living different lives. At the age of 16 I started going on rail trips with my friend Benjamin over summer: four weeks, a budget of a couple of hundreds, of which more than half went into buying the Interrail ticket allowing us to travel all across Europe for a month, a region at a time. At the age of 19 I went back to Costa Rica for one year to work and learn Spanish. At the age of 21 I bought my first vehicle, the iconic 1985 Volkswagen T3, and I started overlanding!

All the vehicles I bought subsequently I bought with overlanding trips in my mind, including a Mitsubishi Outlander (legally my friend's), a BMW series 3 convertible (!), a Toyota 4-Runner, and more recently, a Mercedes G-Class.
